Normalmente cuando veo vuestras listas de películas que llevan premios de crítica, siempre me entra curiosidad y/o ganas de verlas. Y este año hay varias que no me atraen lo más mínimo. Tanto "Wicked", como "Anora" o "Babygirl" no me llaman nada, es más, los trailers me repelieron muy fuerte.

Ya me iréis contando si soy injusto.

Ya lo hemos comentado en otro momento, pero me sigue pareciendo un poco triste el olvido de "Dune II".

Baia, esta no me la vi venir. No sé si se repetirá en el resto de la carrera xD. O sí.

Segunda mención para Kieran Culkin como secundario por 'A Real Pain' (que es la nueva película de Jesse Eisenberg como director), y para la letona 'Flow' a mejor película de animación.
Primera mención para Daniel Craig a mejor actor por un papel que ha sido muy alabado y que puede que le de su primera nominación al Oscar, y premio a mejor película extranjera para la peli alemana de la que os hablé en el último post de la taquilla.

Lo de Wicked es de traca, pero lo de Gladiator II en el top-10 del año cuando 'Dune Parte Dos' ni aparece es de esos chistes que te dan flato.

Pero bueno, la NBR no es de las que suelen acertar como antesala de los Oscar. Aquí los ganadores a mejor película de años anteriores:

Uy, Punkrunner publicó mientras yo escribía. Bueno, ya no lo borro que he escrito mucho y me ha llevado un rato con los enlaces y demás mierdas.

A mí me sorprende ver también por ahí la peli de Conclave. No sé por qué me olía a una mierda alimenticia de Liam Nesson, una cosa bizarra al estilo del exorcismo aquel de Russell Crowe.

Pero, oye, si al final resulta que la peli no está mal, seré el primero en alegrarme porque el turbio mundo vaticano me chana cosa mala. Como curiosidad personal: hice el Erasmus en Italia el año en que se murió Juan Pablo II y durante dos días apenas salí de la plaza del Vaticano, fascinado y traumado por tamaña fauna. Gente pegándose latigazos, rezando como posesos, viejas en sillas de ruedas que dormían en la intemperie. Una cosa muy loquer que solo se vio superado por el fervor desatado que despertó la fumata blanca. Lo dicho: me fascina un montón todo lo que viene que ver con el sarao milenario que se han montado en el Vaticano. Ojalá la peli mole.

'Wicked' consigue su segunda mención a mejor película. This shit is real. No opino porque no la he visto, pero es cuanto menos curioso. Lo que sí me estoy empezando a temer es que va a adelantar por la derecha a Dune en los premios técnicos.
Segunda o tercera mención a la fotografía de 'Nosferatu' y primera mención para la banda sonora de Reznor y Ross para 'Challengers'.

Y....segunda mención a la banda sonora de Reznor y Ross para 'Challengers'. Ya que han descalificado a Zimmer de los Oscar, no estaría mal ver al duo recoger su tercer galardón.
Kieran Culkin se va a afianzando como intérprete de reparto por 'A Real Pain', así como el guion de la película.

La película letona 'Flow' es la que más consenso está reuniendo en animación, aunque me parece imposible que en los Oscar pueda imponerse a 'The Wild Robot' o a cualquier otra producción local.

'The Brutalist' se lleva el premio gordo, aunque la más premiada es 'Nickel Boys'. Kieran Culkin prácticamente confirma un enorme consenso a su alrededor, y ahora mismo es de los Oscar más seguros. Aunque queda mucha carrera.

Más premios para Trent Reznor y Atticus Ross por 'Challengers', aunque curiosamente nadie está si quiera nominando la banda sonora de 'Queer', que a mí me parece bastante mejor; mucho más lírica, bonita y variada.

Más 'The Brutalist', más Kieran Culkin. 'Nosferatu' sigue recibiendo menciones a su fotografía y POR HABLAR, 'Queer' de Reznor y Ross recibe su primera nominación (aunque no ha ganado, se lo llevó la bso de 'The Brutalist').

Por cierto, en documental la cosa está ahí ahí entre 'Superman: The Christopher Reeve Story' y 'No Other Land'. Hasta ahora están muy igualados.
Pero diría que el hollywood progre no se va a resistir a premiar un documental palestino sobre la guerra en palestina.

Por cierto, en documental la cosa está ahí ahí entre 'Superman: The Christopher Reeve Story' y 'No Other Land'. Hasta ahora están muy igualados.
Pero diría que el hollywood progre no se va a resistir a premiar un documental palestino sobre la guerra en palestina.

El documental va sobre la situación de Cisjordania, que nada tiene que ver con la guerra en Gaza. Bueno, "nada" tampoco se ajusta a la realidad, pero vamos, que el documental sería el mismo independientemente de lo que se ha desatado desde octubre de 2023 en Gaza. El documental fue premiado en la Berlinale y hubo polémicas a cascoporro, acusaciones de antisemitismo, amenazas de muerte a los premiados... un jaleo. No sé yo si el hollywood progre premiaría a este documental... me inclinaría más bien por que no lo harán.
